We had a nine-day tour with Mystic Bengal. The original tour was seven days in Dhaka and Sundarban. My husband and I like to meet local people in every country we travel to. We requested Naeem, the owner of Mystic Bengal Tours, to add some extra places where we could meet locals. Barisal was a fantastic place to visit. The river and the connection between the river and the people are some of the best things here. People are so dependent on the river, though it sometimes becomes a source of danger for them.
The original Dhaka and Sundarban tour was fabulous too. Dhaka was a cultural shock; we were surprised to see the contrast between the city and the village. Sundarban was the complete opposite of Dhaka—calm and tranquil. The restaurants and choices throughout the entire tour were excellent. We loved the food in Sundarban.
If you are traveling to Bangladesh, Mystic Bengal and its team would be the best choice for you. Our guide, Naeem, was a fun and amazing person to be around. The driver was very polite too. Overall, we highly recommend Mystic Bengal Tours.
Our tour with Mystic Bengal was amazing from the very beginning. Naeem was excellent at arrangements and fast communication. We had a short time but were able to visit all the best places of Bangladesh. The Sundarban part was the highlight of the tour, and the boat crew was super friendly. The food was amazing. Paharpur and Sreemangal were also two other highlights. Naeem gave us in-depth knowledge of Dhaka and Bangladesh’s history. The tour was super interactive, and the villages in Rajshahi were beautiful. We highly recommend Mystic Bengal for your next adventure.
I did a day tour of Chattogram with Naeem, the owner-operator of Mystic Bengal. He started his own tour business last year, but his experience gained from many years of working at another established company previously was evident. I generally avoid organized tour trips, but I’m glad I did so this time.
Naeem is a smart and friendly guy who’s quick with a smile. Very easy to get along with and can hold an enjoyable conversation. I reached out to a handful of other companies in Bangladesh to inquire about this tour, but what stood out about Naeem was that he always responded promptly, was thorough in his responses, and made the planning process easy. read more...
Highly recommended!
Naeem is an extremely professional guide, he is well prepared and he accommodates all the requests from the booking phase to the departure back home.
Incredibly hospitable, Naeem really took care of us from start to finish.
We highly recommend his tour company to anyone who wants to explore Bangladesh.
Thanks Naeem!
A Memorable 4-Day Tour with Mysticbengal in Bandarban and the Shipbreaking Yard
We had a 4-day tour with Mysticbengal in Bandarban and the Shipbreaking Yard. We met local tribal people, and the villages were nice, and the people were friendly. We upgraded our stay to a resort from our initial tour accommodation. The view from our room was panoramic. A special thanks to Naeem, without whom we could not have met so many people and experienced so much. His wonderful arrangements made the entire process, from start to finish, very smooth, and we enjoyed every part of it. Our tour started and ended in Chittagong, and he also helped us book return train tickets. Highly recommended: Mysticbengal and its team.
I did a tour of Bangladesh with Naeem as my guide which was actually in Jan 2020. He has since started his own tour company. He is very knowledgeable and an excellent guide. Bangladesh is a wonderful country to visit with lots to see. It has a lot of history, culture and nature and Dhaka, the capital, is a very busy bustling city with a lot to see and do. The people are friendly and I felt very safe walking around on my own. The tour to Sonargaon is amazing as it is an old capital city that is now a historic site with beautiful old architecture. I would highly recommend Naeem and Mystic Bengal tours.
Discover Bangladesh – Your Honest, Friendly Travel FAQ
Get answers to the most common questions about traveling to Bangladesh and planning your perfect adventure.
Is Bangladesh safe for solo or first-time foreign travelers?
Absolutely — especially when you're guided by the Bangladesh best tour operator for foreigners (like Mystic Bengal Tours!). For peace of mind, check out our detailed guide: "Is Bangladesh Safe in 2025?" and our Bangladesh Travel Guide made just for foreigners.
Yes, the big cities can feel a bit chaotic (Dhaka, we're looking at you!), but most visitors are amazed by the genuine hospitality and warmth they experience. Stick to trusted Bangladesh tour packages, and you'll have a safe, welcoming, and unforgettable adventure.
Will I find food I can eat? I don't do too spicy.
You'll be surprised! Yes, Bangladeshi cuisine can be spicy — but we've got your back. Most Bangladesh tour packages include food recommendations and flexible meal plans.
In 95% of cases, the hotels you stay in will serve non-spicy food. On our Sundarban tour package, we serve meals based on your preferences. During city travels, our expert guides will take you to the best available options.
In Bangladesh, you can find vegetarian food almost everywhere. However, in some remote places, it might be difficult to completely avoid spicy food — but there are always alternative options.
If you enjoy moderate spices, Bangladesh could be a food haven for you.
Is Bangladesh budget-friendly for Western travelers?
Yes! You can live large on a modest budget. Compared to neighboring destinations, it's a hidden gem. With Mystic Bengal Tours, you'll get top value — clean hotels, English-speaking guides, and no surprise fees.
If you're traveling on a tighter budget, we can adjust your itinerary by downgrading some hotels and offering discounts on accommodation and transportation — without compromising your overall experience.
What should I wear in a Bangladesh tour? Will I need to cover up?
Good question. While shorts and tank tops are fine at the beach, it's best to dress modestly in towns and heritage sites. Covering your head and avoiding short pants when entering religious sites is appreciated out of respect for religious establishments.
Lightweight, breathable clothes are perfect. We offer a full Bangladesh travel guide for foreigners in your welcome kit, so you'll never feel unsure.
What's something I can do here that's truly unique during my Bangladesh travel?
Three words: Sundarbans River Safari. Imagine spotting Bengal tigers, cruising through misty mangrove forests, and hearing nothing but bird calls and boat paddles. Ask about our eco-friendly Bangladesh tour packages — this is bucket list material.
Also, if you enjoy people interaction and the riverine beauty of Bangladesh, consider the Barisal Boat Tour. If you're interested in hill communities and diverse cultures, a Chittagong Hill Tracts tour could be an excellent option for you.
Why go with a local operator instead of a big international brand?
Because we live here. We know the shortcuts, the secret tea stalls, and the best times to visit places before the crowds arrive. As the Bangladesh best tour operator for foreigners, we'll show you the country beyond the guidebooks — and you'll be treated like a guest, not just a customer.
What's more, you're directly contributing to the local economy — your journey supports real communities, not just corporate profits.
Do I need a visa? And how hard is it to get in? Also, do I need an invitation letter for Bangladesh?
Yes, most Western travelers need a visa — but don't worry, it's easier than you think. Visa on arrival is available for travelers from the UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, UAE, KSA, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, and Brunei.
For the invitation letter, your booked hotel will usually provide one. If you've booked with Mystic Bengal Tours, we can assist you with that as well.
Will I have internet? How do I stay connected?
Yes — and it's surprisingly fast in cities! In most cities across Bangladesh, you'll get 4G, and even in villages, mobile data is usually available (though it might be a bit slower).
With Mystic Bengal Tours, the hotels you'll stay in mostly offer Wi-Fi, so you can maintain smooth communication — except in the Sundarban forest area, where connectivity is limited.
